Corinto Port is dragged for worldwide trade

The Nicaraguan President, Enrique Bokaños Geyer, inaugurated the dragging project for the Corinto Port, the principal centramerican harbour. The President of the nation had a meeting with his presidential cabinet for divulgating the advances of the project. The executive president of the National Port Enterprise, NPE, Alejandro Fiallos, said that the investment costs around 3 millions 681 euros, granted by the Belgium Government. The enterprise Jan De Nul N.V. is making the dragging. 1, 019,000 squared meters will be dragged. Fiallos extended that the time of the project will be 90 days. He said that the entire project will take six months and during that period 7 millions 745 euros shall be invested.

Ernesto Leal´s mortal remains repatriated

The mortal remains of the ex secretary of the Presidency, Ernesto Leal Sanchez, arrived to the country coming from the United States of America. At 16:30 hours in the afternoon the body of Leal was received and repatriated officially. All ministers and cabinet of the President, Enrique Bolaños Geyer, were in the activity that took place in the main area of the International Airport of Managua. Leal was recognised for many ministers and politics. Many public people expressed that Leal was the key for an escape of a political crisis. The staff of La Jornada gives the deepest condolences to the members of the honourable family of Mr. Ernesto Leal.

Lotto raffle dedicated to journalists

The main award of the National Lotto was for the Nicaraguan Journalists Association, said the director of the lucky institution of the country, William Báez Sacasa. The law points that annually there have to be three raffles and its earnings must be for a fond for social security for men and women journalists joined with the Nicaraguan Journalists Association. The use and spent of the last big amount of money dedicated to this association was not revealed exactly.
